LIFE Schools Parents and Community Relations Plan (PCRP)

The LIFE School needs a PCRP to develop learning plans that will be most beneficial to our students and the community. When we consider the needs of the community in which our students are in when can make plans to provide them with the necessary skills needed to be successful in finding a job after they leave high school.

• The PCRP purpose will be:
      o Ongoing School and Community partnership
     o Factors contributed to successful community partnership
     o The school’s commitment to learning
     o The principal’s support and vision for community involvement
     o The school's willingness to engage in two-way communication with potential partners                  about their level and kind of involvement
• PCRP goals:
     o Parental involvement
     o Creating a school volunteer program
     o Discovering other opportunities to participate in school activities and district wide                      programs
  Parent & Community contribute to learning and teaching within the school                                    community by:
     o Bringing their knowledge of the community into discussions of needs at the school level
     o Offering learning opportunities to our students o Assisting with networking for our                      students benefits
     o Helping foster relationships between businesses and students
  Specific actions performed by the parent/community to progress towards goals
     o Establish businesses in Georgia that are willing to employee students with disabilities
     o Create a list of skills these businesses are looking for in candidates
     o Develop of plan of action to teach these skills to our students
     o Create a hands-on approach to assisting students with the skills needed to apply for a job

The outcome performance for the parent-community involvement will be measured through the students’ successful job acceptance and placement.

  Timelines:
     o Create committee – 11/01/22
     o Hold first meeting – 11/04/22
     o Find 3 businesses willing to employ people with disabilities – 11/18/22
     o Set a meeting to discuss the needs of the businesses – 12/01/22
     o Develop a plan for curriculum that meets employer needs – 12/07/22
     o Have students take a field trip to business(es) to establish if they are successfully learning            the needs of the business – 03/15/22
     o Find 3 new businesses willing to employ people with disabilities – 01/15/22
     o Continually hold meetings w/businesses new and old to establish their needs – quarterly         o Make adjustments needed for successful implementation of program – 04/01/22
